Abstract
This master thesis covers the integration of problems solvable with Blockly blocks into INGInious. As the technology evolves and the digital world takes a greater part in our daily lives and jobs, the number of computer scientists does not follow the trend. Researchs show that kids who have a computer science course before university are more likely to enroll in a computer science degree. Nevertheless, there is still a lack of resources for teachers and kids to teach and learn the core concepts of computer science and programming. Currently, INGInious is a platform which is used to automatically grade computer science projects at Université catholique de Louvain. This work aims to extend this platform to allow problem solving using a visual programming language in order to use it to teach programming to kids from 10 to 14 years old. The implementation has already been used to teach sequential execution, conditions, loops and functions to more than 150 french-speaking kids from Belgium.
