- In a first time, this paper reviews the literature. First, the readers are introduced to the theory about M&A (concept, context, types, motives). This thesis then discusses the concept of M&A performance and tackles a few methods to evaluate it. After that, the theoretical part of this paper ends with an analysis of the personal luxury goods market and industry. In a second time, I present my hypothesis, the methodology and the raw data used in this research. In a third time, I explain and introduce to the readers the results and findings of my event study in the personal luxury goods industry between 2000 and 2016.
