- Abstract
- This thesis examines the rhetorical structures of online job advertisements within the copywriting and cybersecurity professions, using Swales’ theoretical basis for genre analysis. By analyzing job ads from Indeed UK, this dissertation aims to compare the way they are drafted in these two fields. The study identifies similarities such as the existence of the same moves within both fields and a lack of multimodal elements. However, there are also several key differences ranging from word count to the use of a different lexis. Although the research is limited in its scope to two professions and a single job board, it provides practical implications for designing effective job ads tailored to specific professional contexts, contributing in this way to a better professional and academic understanding of digital recruitment communication in the 21st century.
