Abstract
For several years now, the notion of identity has been the focus of renewed interest in our societies. This interest has been accompanied by major technological innovations. Among these, the emergence of "social media" is undoubtedly one of the most salient. Parallel to these movements, we are witnessing a proliferation of discourses and studies pointing to a decline in self-esteem and a significant increase in depressive symptoms among young people, dynamics that are at least partly attributed to the widespread use of these platforms. The explanatory links invoked to interpret these phenomena are manifold (disruption of natural sleep cycles, exposure to sensitive content, screen addiction phenomena, etc.). We'll leave these considerations aside to explore in this work the relationship between psychological well-being and the development of personal identity in its existential dimension in interaction with social media.
