Abstract
These days, companies have many strategies to source and optimise their profits. One emerging popular approach strategy is “glocal sourcing”, a mix of global and local sourcing methods. However, this practice can be disrupted by external factors beyond the control of companies, such as geopolitical conflicts. The aim of this article is to analyse the impact of geopolitical conflicts on companies, with a focus on the Russian-Ukrainian conflict. We will explore how some companies have had to adapt and reorganise to meet these changes. The first part of this paper will be devoted to establishing a historical context, while the second part will focus on analysing our question through the example of five companies from different sectors that were impacted by the conflict, detailing how they manage to recover and adapt.
