Abstract

Ce mémoire se focalise sur la traduction partielle et commentée d'un ouvrage rédigé par Gary Weitzman consacré au bien-être des animaux de compagnie, intitulé « National Geographic Complete Guide to Pet Health, Behavior, and Happiness: The Veterinarian's Approach to At-Home Animal Care ». Il contient de nombreux chapitres : une préface qui explique pourquoi ce livre a été sélectionné pour constituer le cœur de ce travail, une introduction qui explore divers thèmes (à savoir la domestication, la médecine vétérinaire, la littérature scientifique, etc.), une traduction partielle sur six chapitres aux thèmes différents, des commentaires de traduction (abordant notamment la méthodologie et les approches adoptées), un glossaire reprenant les termes principaux (catégorisés par chapitre) ainsi qu’une conclusion finale. This thesis focuses on the partial and annotated translation of a work written by Gary Weitzman dedicated to the well-being of pets, entitled "National Geographic Complete Guide to Pet Health, Behavior, and Happiness: The Veterinarian's Approach to At-Home Animal Care." It contains numerous chapters: a preface explaining why this book was chosen as the core of this work, an introduction exploring various themes (namely domestication, veterinary medicine, scientific literature, etc.), a partial translation of six chapters with different themes, translation comments (including the methodology and approaches adopted), a glossary of main terms (categorized by chapter), and a final conclusion.
