- Abstract
- With the growing importance of flow simulation around wind turbines, it is necessary to recreate accurately sheared flows of air. In this work, we investigate the numerical simulation of turbulent linear wind shear. First successfully recreating an experimental case from a wind tunnel, then studying the variation in the results when changing the base parameters. This study is performed using large-eddy simulations (LES) and turbulence generated by Mann’s algorithm. The results of this thesis will give a deeper understanding of a linear wind shear and provide guidelines to assure physical validity of future simulations with wind turbines.
