Abstract
The healthcare sector's role in climate change and the complexity of the pharmaceutical supply chain present challenges for the future. This work project attempts to develop a framework addressing these issues through improved pharmaceutical suppliers’ evaluation. Its main contribution is the introduction of a sustainability evaluation map. The proposed tool is applied to a Portuguese hospital group, and was built using a qualitative method. Relevant criteria were identified and weighted based on interviews. The results identify 22 criteria summarized in five topics: Mobility, Packaging, Production, Waste Management and Social Sustainability. An example of application is provided.
