Abstract
Marketing is a crucial part of economic activity. Companies use marketing to present their products and services to the public and expect to have direct and indirect benefits out of it, however, nowadays the tools and channels have dramatically changed and failure to apply digital marketing also means "loss" of market leadership. This thesis aims to summarize the major differences between traditional and digital marketing, the types of digital marketing, the benefits of digital marketing, and the impact of digital marketing on business. The study also gives information about the situation of digital marketing at Materialise (MTLS) and how the company was dealing with the positive impact of digital marketing on its business development.
