- he SaaS business model first emerged in the 1990s. Since then, it has gradually become more prevalent in the IT sector. Although SaaS was long underappreciated, it has recently experienced a fantastic increase. SaaS companies being relatively new and even in terms of technology companies in general, they are one of the industries with the most challenging business evaluation methods. This research work highlights the important elements of business valuation, the genesis of valuation, and the different approaches and methods that may be particularly applicable to SaaS companies. The Rule of 40 metric will be particularly chellenged, as a indicator of business value of SaaS compagnies at the public companies stage.
