Abstract
Could there be an exercise more trivial to students than an oral presentation? Schoolchildren are familiar with it since the earliest age, pupils and students are often expected to present one as well. However, it seems to be the subject of a renewed interest among teaching practices, academic works and business activities during the last decades? Since 2021, it is a part of the French Baccalauréat known as "le grand oral". In the last two years, three master theses discussing oral presentations were published. Nowadays, it is also increasingly required as one of the soft skills asked by companies. Nevertheless, despite the renewed and growing interest, orality is still difficult to teach. Maybe is there a answer to be found in the latest developments in the field and in a critical assesment of the academic knowledge. Through the analysis of oral presentations' processing, oralization and evaluation, we will proceed to present such a critical assessment. Moreover, we will propose some possible actions of didactical engineering based on this summary. Is synergology the best way to release the orator's body energy ? Is PowerPoint the perfect tool to give an oral presentation? Does peer reviewing provide an answer while taking all factors into account? Here are some of the questions our thesis will attempt to answer.
