Abstract
The purpose of this thesis is to find a way to limit the negative effects false scarcity appeals can have on consumers in online marketplaces. That is, the fact that companies sometimes show their products as being in high demand or low stock when they are not. The proposed solution would be a nudge policy in the form of a plug-in to be installed on web browsers.
