- Abstract
- Although Pierre Bottero's first trilogy of novels, "La Quête d'Ewilan", plunges its readers into a marvellous heroic fantasy universe, it is nevertheless marked by the absence of any plant description. So how can we imagine the world of Gwendalavir? The comic book adaptation of this work offers us an outline of the answer and opens the doors to a universe of lush nature. The visual contribution created by the comic book can be considered as a concrete description of the world of Gwendalavir, but it can also be studied in much greater depth: that is the challenge of this thesis. Through a critical look at the adaptation of the "botterian" work, different interpretations of the vegetation are revealed. Narratological, zoopoetic and ethnobotanical approaches, among others, reveal an unsuspected role of the vegetation while enriching, with coherence, the alavirian universe built by Pierre Bottero.
