- This thesis analyses Donald Trump's communications during his four years in office and during his two presidential campaigns against Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden. What are the most important factors in Donald Trump's communication to gain strong support among the electorate? What strategies did he use? Do you think Donald Trump's communications have led to violence and division in the United States? Did his misuse of social media lead to violence? But above all, what is Trump a symptom of? To conduct my analysis, I will rely on some of the candidate's interventions on television during the presidential campaign and his candidature, as well as his interventions on social media on his twitter platform (2015-2021). In addition, my work will consist of synthesising the information found by various experts and journalists who have analysed certain aspects of Trump's communication to explain his success. The first chapter (Chapter 6.1.) will focus on Donald Trump's personality, to find out who he really is. The second chapter (Chapter 6.2.) analyses the linguistics of the 45th President of the United States. The third chapter (Chapter 6.3.) deals with the non-verbal aspects of the billionaire's communication. In Chapter 4 (Chapter 6.4.) we analyse Trump's communication with the media. In Chapter 5 (Chapter 6.5.), I discuss how Donald Trump deals with social and societal issues, such as health issues, global warming, the Trump administration's foreign policy and anti-Trump distrust in Europe. With all these elements in mind, in Chapter 7 I will present the results of my research, which will allow me to confirm or disconfirm my hypotheses.
