- Abstract
- Cultural exchanges between East and West date back to ancient times. As a mediator of the dissemination of oriental culture in the West, Marco Polo presented, in his La Description du monde, detailed information on oriental cities where he lived, showing a great curiosity about women. Asians. How does the woman appear in the eye of Marco Polo? Did he have a vision that was contrary to that of the missionaries of his society? If so, what information was conveyed to readers through Marco Polo's travel notes? Carried out in the form of an imagological and comparative study, this thesis aims to study the image of women and oriental culture through the eyes of Marco Polo and Westerners.
