- Abstract
- For many years, companies have been outsourcing some activities to external service providers. This practice can be applied to all kinds of activities, including those related to logistics. In this master’s thesis, we explain different logistics models a company can implement within its supply chain. Going from the third-party logistics to the fifth-party logistics model including an explanation of the term « Control Tower ». We provide a theoretical overview of these models as well as a practical analysis based on the GSK Vaccines company. To answer the question:"What changes does GSK Vaccine need to make to improve its logistics provider model?", we conducted an analysis of these different logistics models with the current situation of GSK Vx based on interviews. Finally, we made a personal recommendation on the logistics model that we believe GSK Vaccine should develop in the coming years.
