Abstract
The purpose of this master thesis is to shed light on the "Global Leadership Competencies" (GLC) suggested by the scientific literature. We started our reflection by wondering whether there were truly GLC that any efficient global leader should master if he wants to thrive internationally, if yes this would be the solution to companies' internalization. From that problematic many questions arose such as: are these competencies transferable from one company to another?; is culture the ultimate hinder that won't enable global leaders to perform the same way in all type of context?; which element differentiates a national leader from a global leader? To do so, we first reviewed the scientific literature to identify the potential competencies to master. Secondly we tried to underscore the differences between the national leaders and the global leaders. Finally, we observed the incidence of culture on those GLC. In our second part, the empirical research, we proceeded to five interviews of global leaders to test out the model we elaborated and try to observe the impact of culture on those GLC.
