Abstract
This research explores the interplay between three main (quasi-)legal frameworks in Jordan that judge or defend honour killings. These are the Jordanian Penal Code, Islamic law (Sharia) and the Bedouin law. More precisely, this study investigates how these frameworks look at gender (in)equality and which actors have the power to define the woman’s place in the Jordanian juridical approach of honour killings.
