Abstract
Belgium experienced several bugs using electronic voting devices, hence some parts of the country decided to go back to paper ballots or continue to use them. Unfortunately paper elections have drawbacks too. In this work, I present the Belgian voting system and the electronic voting system STAR Vote. I propose some adaptations to shape STAR Vote for the Belgian needs. These adaptations concern the ballot validity proof and the risk-limiting audit. Using a more secure electronic voting system may help Belgium improve its elections.
