Abstract
This dissertation is a partial and commented translation of Mimi Marinucci’s book Feminism is Queer. The intimate connection between queer and feminist theory. Firstly, the English-language introduction focuses on sex, sexuality and gender, and analyses the binarity of gender and how it is challenged. In brief, it is mainly about the way the bicategorisation of woman/man, female/male and homosexual/heterosexual is challenged in contemporary Western society. Secondly, I decided to translate the five first chapters, which address sex and sexuality, their social construction and their relation to the binary categorisation of society. And finally, in the last part, you will find some translation commentaries in link with the translation. They focus on the issue of the absence of a neutral grammatical gender in French and its implication on the translation of gendered concepts, translation theory, the presence or absence of the translator, etc.
