- Abstract
- BiH is a multi-ethnic state composed of two autonomous entities. The Republic of Srpska, composed of the Bosnian Serb population, and the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina composed of both Bosnian Croat and Bosniak populations. The Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina consists of three members. There is a Bosniak President, a Serb President and a Croat President. Each one holds the presidency for eight months in rotation for four years. This political system was organised by the Dayton Agreements in 1995 to put an end to the war. Americans through that with time a new constitutional compromise amongst the communities would have been found. However, the political situation in BiH is so unstable that a revision of the Dayton Agreements has not been decided. Therefore, we can see that after 25 years, three communities within a country are still institutionally divided and a unification does not seem to be at the agenda.
