- Abstract
- The subject of the master thesis has been proposed by Mobic, enterprise specialised in wood frame constructions. Nowadays, regarding the wood frame buildings, one notices a delay between the redaction of European norms (especially Eurocode 5) concerning multi-storey timber buildings, and the demand of an expanding market. Furthermore, the designers need to rely on relevent norms. One of the aims of this thesis consists to tackle different analytical approaches to estimate the stiffness (only the elastic domain) and the resistance of timber shear walls. Those estimations will be compared with experimental values. Thanks to this, the number of floors that can be reached for a theoretical building will be predicted, as well as the serviceability limit states than the ultimate limit states. You also can find some proposals of innovations.
