Abstract
We establish a new characterisation for the trace space of a Sobolev-type space known as the gauge covariant Sobolev space, in particular for the non-abelian gauge theories. The result extends classical results from trace theory such as the trace theorem due to Gagliardo. Gauge covariant Sobolev spaces appear in fields of physics such as quantum physics and Yang-Mills theories. The obtained result is particularly suited to these settings as it is gauge invariant.
