- Abstract
- Purpose of the study: examine if the variable "academic grade" is positively and significantly related to entrepreneurial intention. In addition, an analysis of the impact of "entrepreneurial self-efficacy" as a mediator in the academic grade-intention relationship. Design/methodology/approach: The use of the macro PROCESS developped by Hayes and Preacher on the software SPSS has been used to perform the mediation analysis. Findings: No significant relationship was found between academic grade and entrepreneurial intention. But, when entrepreneurial self-efficacy is added in the analysis, the relationship with intention becomes significant. In addition, an indirect effect of academic grade through the mediator on entrepreneurial intention exists which reinforces the explanatory power of entrepreneurial self-efficacy. Limitations: The variable "academic grade" was self-reported and was categorical which could have biaised the analysis.
