- Abstract
- In the context of Sustainable Finance, the integration of ESG strategies has become increasingly important, reflecting a shift towards responsible and ethical practices. This study aims to produce an overview of the current situation within the Belgian banking market. Exploring how banks integrate ESG strategies through KPIs, products and pricing models is at the heart of this research. Through qualitative research based on an inductive approach, we analyzed secondary data and highlighted the information that sparked our interest. The key findings show a notable trend towards the development and implementation of this type of strategy in banks. In addition, it is shown that ESG strategies appear to be effective with ESG ratings from external institutions that appear to reflect the reality of the efforts put in place. The implications of these conclusions extend to various stakeholders including banks, investors, regulators, and society as a whole. By elucidating and presenting the current state of ESG integration and evaluating its effectiveness, this research contributes valuable information to the development of sustainable finance and CSR.
