Cette analyse met en lumière la situation actuelle des Tatars de Crimée et ce que le droit international pourrait leur apporter. La deuxième partie consiste en une traduction partielle de l’ouvrage de Brian Glyn Williams The Crimean Tatars: From Soviet Genocide to Putin’s Conquest (2016). Seuls le prologue et le chapitre six ont été traduits. Alors que le prologue informe le lecteur sur les origines des Tatars de Crimée, le chapitre six raconte leur déportation par Staline en 1944. La dernière partie du présent mémoire est dédiée aux commentaires de traduction. Il s’agit de comprendre comment les problèmes rencontrés lors de la traduction ont été appréhendés et résolus, avec à l’appui des avis d’experts.The present thesis was written as part of the Master in translation, with a specialisation in European and international affairs (Louvain School of Translation and Interpreting). It begins with an analysis of the legality or illegality of Moscow’s annexation of Crimea in 2014. This analysis sheds light on the current situation of the Crimean Tatars and on whether international law could be of any help for them. The second part consists in a partial translation of Brian Glyn Williams’ book The Crimean Tatars: From Soviet Genocide to Putin’s Conquest (2016). Only the prologue and the sixth chapter were translated. While the prologue gives some information about the origins of the Crimean Tatars, chapter six relates their deportation by Stalin in 1944. The last part of this thesis is dedicated to the translation comments.
