Ensuite, ce mémoire comprend la traduction des deux premiers chapitres de l’ouvrage Agriculture: A Very Short Introduction rédigé par Paul Brassley et Richard Soffe et publié en 2016 par la maison d’édition Oxford University Press. Ce livre donne un aperçu général de l’agriculture sous tous ses aspects. Le premier chapitre porte sur le sol, sa composition, les plantes et cultures qui y poussent et les différentes pratiques qui permettent aux agriculteurs d’augmenter sa productivité. Le second chapitre porte sur les animaux de ferme et la manière dont les agriculteurs les élèvent et travaillent avec eux. La traduction est accompagnée d’un glossaire rassemblant les termes scientifiques spécifiques à l’agriculture. Ce Mémoire comprend finalement un commentaire expliquant mes choix et stratégies de traduction.This Mémoire entitled “L’Agriculture d’aujourd’hui et de demain” includes an introduction about the future of agriculture, namely the challenges agriculture is facing and the adaptation solutions that have been implemented around the world. Then, it includes the translation of the two first chapters of the book Agriculture: A Very Short Introduction by Paul Brassley and Richard Soffe, published in 2016 by Oxford University Press. This book gives a general overview of agriculture in all its aspects. The first chapter covers the soil, its composition, the plants and crops that grow on it, and the practices that allow farmers to increase its productivity. Then, the second chapter is about farm animals and the way farmers breed them and work with them. The translation is accompanied by a glossary gathering the scientific agricultural terms.
