Abstract
In an era marked by rapid advancements in financial technologies and pervasive digital adoption, FinTech firms face heightened vulnerability to cyber threats. Traditional cybersecurity practices combined with Agile development methodologies are increasingly inadequate for the dynamic FinTech landscape. This thesis addresses the integration of robust cybersecurity measures into Scrum-based projects to better protect FinTech operations. This research adopts a mixed-methods approach, incorporating iterative design cycles, expert interviews, and case studies from diverse FinTech environments. The proposed framework focuses on integrating cybersecurity into Scrum through security backlog integration, securityfocused sprints, continuous security testing, regular audits, security training, and effective monitoring systems. The findings demonstrate the proposed framework's effectiveness in enhancing the security posture of FinTech projects while maintaining alignment with Agile principles. Expert validation and case studies confirm that the framework is both theoretically sound and practically applicable, offering substantial improvements in cybersecurity integration. By reimagining the integration of cybersecurity within Scrum for FinTech projects, this thesis provides a strategic pathway for FinTech firms to leverage cybersecurity as a critical enabler of trust and resilience. The research contributes valuable insights and methodologies for future research and practice, enhancing the ongoing discourse on cybersecurity in Agile environments and the digital transformation of financial sector.
