Abstract
The development of inflexible means of electricity production, such as renewable energies, is disrupting electricity markets and creating imbalances on the network. Flexibility is therefore an important issue. Among the electrical appliances in the domestic sector, the electric storage water heater is chosen for study. A synthetic pool of consumption is created and the device is modelled in order to analyse its potential for flexibility using two different control methods.
