- Abstract
- This report presents the self-assembly of large platinum nanowires at a toluene-water interface. First, a state of the art covers the main researches results obtained in the field of nanoparticles and nanowires self-assembly. A method of fabrication of large platinum nanowires by electroplating is then presented. Afterwards, the capping of the nanowires with 11-mercaptoundecanoic acid (MUA) and hydrophobic 1-dodecanethiol (DDT) is explained. Finally, the influence of the coating, as well as the method used to promote the self-assembly is discussed.
