Abstract
This work provides a better understanding of the extent to which current British comedians and comedies are actually being stifled by the so-called cancel culture and by political correctness in general. This was done by means of juxtaposing several case analyses in which British comedians were called out for jokes they said in various contexts, along with looking at different views modern comedians and comedy pundits expressed on the matter. In addition, this thesis also examined what the new taboos in comedy and in society in general are, still with a focus on Britain.
