Abstract
Starting with a presentation of the eSports industry and stakeholders, this thesis investigates how game developers may exert significant control over their stakeholders. Through the exploration of theories (Schumpeter vs Arrow) related to competition, innovation and the strength of legal protection associated to the innovations, I explore how the controlled-league structure may endanger the business model of eSports stakeholders. To avoid such a bad scenario, I explore the specific and complex role of antitrust authorities. To conclude, I propose some solutions to improve the efficiency of antitrust entities.
