Abstract
This thesis focuses on the effects of an intercultural environment on employee engagement in American multinational companies in Belgium. Although employee engagement is dependent on internal communication (Verčič et al., 2012), there is a lack of studies linking the complications posed by an intercultural environment and its effects on employee engagement. For this reason, this thesis focuses on examining this relationship. The methodology of this study relies on a questionnaire distributed to 90 employees in American multinational companies in Belgium. The results indicate that, on average, employees in American multinational companies in Belgium are engaged and satisfied with internal communication and cultural management in the organization.
