- Abstract
- China’s rapid economic development from the past three decades is slowing down due to several reasons. With the country’s intended transition from a low-skilled mass manufacturer into globally recognized innovation and service economy comes the need for professionals with technical competencies and employees who can fill international roles. This stands at the base of the recruitment of international talents in China. The practical case in this paper focuses on Set in China (SIC), a consulting agency that specializes in connecting China and the global community through internships and teaching programs. The main objectives of this thesis are to: i) assess whether there is a match between the demands of employers and supply of international job seekers in China using the case of SIC and, ii) provide suggestions for the agency on how to recruit more international talents.
