- Abstract
- RIPE Atlas (https://atlas.ripe.net/ ) is a network measurement platform developed by RIPE in Amsterdam. This platform relies on thousands of probes that have been deployed all over the world and can be used to perform different types of Internet measurements (delay, DNS, traceroute, ...). The objective of the thesis is to define new measurements that could be of interest for network researchers or network operators and deploy these tests on top of the RIPE Atlas platform. Repeating measurements done by Vern Paxson in 1995, this study tries to discover the needs in terms of tools in the research field of Internet measurements. Tracebox, a tool that aims to detect middlebox, seems to fill a gap let by other tools and would add value to a network measurement platform such as RIPE Atlas. In this thesis, measurements are made to exhibit its benefits and some tests are written to have a complete overview of its capabilities.
