Abstract
While our current linear model turned out to be successful at delivering cheap products and increasing the standards of living of a large number of people, it has reached its economic, social, and environmental limits. Therefore, it is time to switch to an alternative model: the circular model. This thesis will first study and analyze how this circular model can address the limits of the linear model. Then, it will apply this circular model to the fashion industry, which is one of the most polluting industries. We will find out that, interestingly, one of the biggest barriers to the switch to circular fashion is customer interest and adoption. Through the literature and interviews we will answer the following questions : - What are the different ways to integrate the circular economy into the fashion industry? (Second hand, PSS, recycled clothes, etc.) - What are the barriers to the adoption of circular fashion offerings by customers?
