- Ce mémoire de traduction audiovisuelle a comme point de départ le sous-titrage du documentaire animalier de Jürgen Vogt : « Die Tiere und Wir ». Ce film est un recueil d’images de la faune et de la flore du Sud-Ouest de l’Allemagne ponctué par des interventions de conservateurs animaliers et de spécialistes, le tout narré par une voix-off. Les choix faits lors du sous-titrage sont justifiés sous forme de commentaires. Ces derniers concernent d’une part les aspects liés à la technique du sous-titrage et d’autre part, les aspects liés à la langue et donc à la traduction. L’introduction qui compose la première partie de ce travail pose le cadre pour cette analyse. Les thèmes principaux du documentaire y sont présentés dans leur contexte. Les thèmes abordés sont la définition et les enjeux du sous-titrage d’un documentaire animalier ; le lieu de tournage du documentaire et les habitats des animaux observés ; la relation entre l’homme et l’animal. This audiovisual translation dissertation is based on the subtitling of Jürgen Vogt's wildlife documentary "Die Tiere und Wir". This film is a collection of images of the fauna and flora of southwest Germany, punctuated by the interventions of animal conservationists and specialists, all narrated by a voice-over. The choices made in subtitling are justified in the form of comments. These comments concern, on the one hand, aspects relating to the subtitling technique and, on the other, aspects relating to the language and therefore to the translation. The introduction to the first part of this work provides the framework for this analysis. The main themes of the documentary are presented in context. The themes addressed are the definition and the challenges of subtitling a wildlife documentary; the location of the documentary and the habitats of the animals observed; the relationship between man and animal.
