- Abstract
- This thesis investigates the routing dynamics and security implications of the Starlink satellite constellation. Through a comprehensive analysis of the ground and space segments, this research uncovers the complexity in the routing of Starlink. Experiments include the nature of routing, the geolocation of nodes, the use of tunneling, and the statistical analysis of round trip time. At the same time, the investigation reveals cyber risks, including susceptibility to DDoS attacks, jamming, cyber espionage, or eavesdropping. This research enhances the understanding of Low Earth Orbit satellite networking while highlighting key security risks.
