- Abstract
- The steam methane reforming process is largely used to produce synthesis gas involved in the production of a lot of chemicals. The intrinsic kinetic of steam methane reforming on two nickel based structured catalysts is studied thanks to integral reactors. A lot of criteria have to be respected in order to collect significant experimental data. In total, 95 kinetic models are derived from two reaction mechanisms. The kinetic parameters are estimated for each of them. Then, model discrimination is performed based on the physical meaning and on the statistic consistence of the results. A model which is both physically and statistically consistent is retained for each catalyst. A tool is developed to improve this discrimination when others experimental compaigns have been conducted.
