Abstract
This thesis compares different ways of evaluating the pronunciation of students of English. A perceptual study has been undertaken by means of evaluators split according to two criteria: their native language (English or not) and their expertise. The data of the corpus ANGLISH has been assessed by those evaluators according to three criteria: comprehensibility, normativity and accentedness. Those three criteria are discussed in the theoretical part and a comparison between French and English pronunciation is presented.
