Abstract
This paper talks about the ever-growing citizen disinterest towards the European Union. This disinterest, if not indifference from the citizens towards Europe has been at the centre of debates for many years, and the lack of participation in the European elections has slowly become even more concerning. This thesis is devoted to the identification of the different factors leading to indifference and to uncover the impact of Brexit in this shift mentalities. This was achieved through the organization of focus groups with both seniors and juniors. The two focus groups were held separately in 2019 and the analysis is based on the conversation transcripts of these sessions.
