Abstract
The present Master thesis is conducting a single case study on Lean Six Sigma as a continuous improvement method. GSK Vaccines Rixensart was selected as the business case to investigate how to implement Lean Six Sigma in practice. The case study focuses on vaccine batch record lead time reduction in the Manufacturing Process Unit B46 Filling of the company. The theory on Lean Six Sigma implementation methodology, also known as DMAIC, will be covered in details. Next, an extensive literature review on DMAIC and the major key success factors will be pictured prior presenting an overview of the case study development in practice. Subsequently, an analysis of the critical success factors, which helped to achieve a 68.94% average vaccine batch record lead time reduction compared to 2015, will be depicted. At last, the paper will conclude on a discussion relative to the case study.
