- Abstract
- This paper is a comparative analysis of the potential of two companies involved in last-mile cycle logistics in the Brussels-Capital Region. The two companies being compared are Urbike, a social cooperative, and Urbeez, a limited liability company. The purpose of this comparison is to determine the influence of their legal forms on their contributive potential. They are analysed through the lens of the common goods matrix. The information was gathered through interviews with managers of these two companies and through research, making it predominantly declarative. The analysis shows that while the two companies are active in a sector with a high potential for positive impact, the cooperative analysed has a generally higher contributive potential than the limited liability company in regards to contribution to the common good. However, due to the limitations of the study, it is not possible to conclude that this is attributable to the respective legal forms of these organizations. Nevertheless, once these limitations are taken into account, this analysis highlights differences and similarities between these two companies that can be partially explained by their organizational structures, for example, in terms of collaboration with public authorities, work reintegration, or employment policies.
