- Abstract
- While binary black hole mergers are not expected to efficiently accelerate cosmic particles, one suspects the surrounding environment to play a crucial role for the observations of joint emissions of cosmic messengers from these systems. In this work, we consider the case of binary black hole mergers occurring in the inner region of active galaxies. In such cases, the orbital evolution of the system might lead to the acceleration of the surrounding gas and produce particles via different processes such as particle collisions. Envisioning their low interaction rate, neutrinos constitute perfect candidates for the hunt of such events because they can make their way through the thickness of the accretion disk of the AGN. We try to find gravitational wave and astrophysical neutrino events coinciding in both space and time, and with the position of AGN.
