- Child labor is a continuous phenomenon in many developing countries. Since few years, support for the imposition of international labor standards and the use of trade policies, such as product boycotts, has come among rich-countries governments and consumer groups in the battle against child labor in developing countries. This paper investigates why well intentioned measures of combating child labor around the world might not have the desired effect, but the contrary, resulting actually in supporting child labor problem.
