Abstract
Social media have changed the world drastically in recent years. Their effects are diverse and affect daily life. They revolutionised the world of communication. Here we will mainly focus on their place within crisis communication. For example, their role during the Covid-19 pandemic was important, both for keeping in touch with family and friends and for keeping up to date with the latest measures applied in the country. Moreover, with the rise of social networks, a new function has emerged, the function of influencers. These well-known figures on the Internet have often communicated their opinions on the Covid-19 crisis in a more or less explicit way. Through this work, we will analyse their role, impact on in crisis communication and especially during the Covid-19 pandemic. we will also look at how the public and journalists perceive the growing success of social networks.
