Abstract
The following paper first sums up the theoretical knowledge available on the relationship between venture capitalists and entrepreneurs, going from the proposals screening to the post-investment relationship. Our literature review led us to the conclusion that it is more interesting to address venture capitalists in a limited geographical market and on a precise industry, this is why this master thesis adresses the Belgian tech industry. In order to do so, we interviewed 8 VCs active in the Belgian digital economy as well as 8 digital entrepreneurs. Our cases studies helped us to draw conclusions for both the investor and the entrepreneur about the perception of the Belgian digital industry, the investment process, and the post-investment relationship.
