Abstract
The luxury bridal wear sector is expanding at a great pace, with weddings continuously taking place and brides looking for their unique dress. Meanwhile, sustainability is becoming a central concern in this field with companies actively seeking ways to improve their environmental impact. Halfpenny London, founded in 2005 by Kate Halfpenny, is a rapidly growing company in the luxury bridal sector. As it continues to expand, the company is committed to integrating sustainability and environmental responsibility into its operations. The literature review examines the luxury sector, the bridal sector and corporate sustainability. We explore various sustainability frameworks, such as the Triple Bottom Line approach and the circular economy. It highlights the role of B-Corp certification as a benchmark for companies committed to social and environmental performance. Additionally, the research outlines the Sustainable Development Goals, focusing on those most relevant to the bridal sector and Halfpenny London’s operations. In this research, we aim to address a gap in the existing literature on sustainability within the luxury bridal sector and contribute to the development of a strategy for Halfpenny London. We will identify key challenges and provide tailored recommendations based on data from management interviews and employee questionnaires. The selected SDGs will guide the company in addressing its current challenges and implementing the suggested recommendations. We will then prioritise and implement actions to demonstrate the practical applicability of our results.
