- Abstract
- Windstorm risk has always been a concern for insurance undertakings in Europe. Usually these insurance undertakings rely on vendor’s model to manage this risk. However, these external models tend to function as a Black Block. Thus, there is a growing need to develop internal models to asses this risk. The aim of this thesis is to create to model. The first model generates the results by applying a classical approach of frequency and severity analysis on windstorm losses. The second model takes a different approach, by relying on hazard and vulnerability modelling. Finally, the two models are compared with a vendor’s model.
