- This thesis explores the drivers of corporate sustainability integration into strategic management across different industry types and sizes, using a qualitative research approach. Through a detailed analysis involving of twelve key actors from diverse sectors and organizational scales, the study identifies the motivational forces that shape the adoption of sustainable practices within corporate settings. The research underscores the critical role of industry size in shaping sustainability strategies, demonstrating significant impact of legal frameworks on large organizations, financial performance for small- and medium-sized enterprises, and environmental & social responsibilities, as well as innovation for micro-enterprises and start-ups. The findings of this research provide invaluable insights for managers and business leaders, facilitating the formulation of tailored strategies that facilitate the effective integration of sustainability into corporate strategic management, thereby fostering sustainable development across industries.
